Welcome and introcuction.

Why the hell should I read this?
Good question.  I suppose the answer is “because you have nothing to lose.”  Maybe (or probably) most of my thoughts are either rehashed ideas from minds far greater than my own, or are utter and complete garbage.  But maybe I have an idea or two that might actually have some merit.  You be the judge.

What this blog will contain
The GM’s Seat – Thoughts and notes about the fine art of GMing.  Observations on things I’ve learned over the past three decades of running TTRPG’s.
Playing a Character – Although my playing experience is far less than my time GMing, I really enjoy playing, and have a particular style for creating and running characters.
Hacking Hero Lab – I use the Hero Lab character management software from Lone Wolf Studios quite extensively, to the point where I started learning how to use their editor to create custom content.  I am by no means an expert, but I have learned a thing or two, and have successfully added races, classes, and house rules into Hero Lab via the editor.  I hope to share some of that learning with you.
3PP Spotlight – I use a lot of third-party publisher’s content, mostly for the Pathfinder and Traveller RPG’s.  There is an amazing amount of really good material out there, some of which, IMHO, is better than Paizo’s stuff.  I would like to give some of these products some love, and maybe share my experiences using them.
Digital map making - Recently, I learned a little about making fantasy maps with GIMP.  I’m still trying out different techniques, but it’s not hard to do once you understand some basic functions of GIMP.  I plan to share some of what I’ve learned with you.
Worldbuilding – I have been tinkering with ideas for a homebrew world for the past six months or so, and I would love some feedback on the ideas that I am developing.
Adventure Path Hacks – I use Paizo’s Adventure Paths for my Pathfinder games.  Most are pretty good, but all require some tweaks here and there to make them better.  I also try to modify the AP’s so that they tie in the character’s backstories and motivations.  This would be a grab-bag of fixes to published adventures, reviews of same, and some ideas about how to adjust AP’s to improve character investment.

This is my first-ever attempt at blogging.  I chose Google Overlord because I tend to do most of my work in Google applications.  Bear with me as I figure out the finer points of blogging.  Thanks!
